About the workshop:

In this session, you will learn how to:

• Recalibrate your big-picture vision (cutting back vs. cutting off)
• Maintain stability and foster trust and respect through forgiveness
You will leave this session armed with simple and practical tools to cultivate a daily practice of compassion and grace to improve productivity, collaboration, and well-being in the workplace.

Julian Lewis is the COO & Chief Coaching Officer at Zella Life, a technology-enabled coaching platform bridging the leadership gap for diverse talent and middle managers. A 17- year veteran in corporate training, Lewis has coached and developed global teams across many industries. Lewis has successfully leveraged real-life experiences and evidence-based methodologies to design, develop, and deliver successful programs that have helped 40% of Zella Life's coaching clients receive a promotion or pay increase offer. Inspired by his company's name Zella, meaning "lacking nothing," Lewis is on a mission to normalize professional development and personal fulfillment for underserved professionals.

Jen is a speaker, six-time author, and has worked with organizations such as The Walt Disney Company, Sony Studios, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Walmart, Costco, Target, Goodwill, and the U.S. Air Force. She has appeared on radio and TV programs, podcasts and blogs, sharing her money management expertise and knowledge. She has spoken to audiences throughout the United States, including being a featured speaker to universities such as the University of Southern California, University of California, Irvine, University of California, Riverside, DeVry University, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
About the workshop:
During this workshop, we will learn the basic principles of project management, the importance of project management in healthcare and research, and discover project management mistakes, and how to avoid them. Additionally, we will discuss how we define projects at CTSI and share project management template and tools.

John is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). John has worked at several healthcare providers and academic medical centers in the Los Angeles area including USC Keck School of Medicine, Methodist Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Huntington Hospital and City of Hope. John currently works at CHLA as the Information Services Senior Program Manager for Research. John serves as the Business Relationship Manager between IS and Research Leadership. He brings more than 15 years of experience in provider settings with expertise in information technology, management consulting, and project management. John Burgos holds a BS in Biomedical/Biochemical Engineering from USC, an MS in Health Information Management from Claremont Graduate University, and an MBA from USC.

Since joining SC CTSI as Special Projects Manager in 2012, Dr. Orechwa has had the pleasure of working with all core groups on diverse projects including the research data warehouse, USC’s research coordinator pool, study activation process improvement, and the COVID-19 vaccination campaign. In her new role as Sr. Director of Strategy and Innovation for the CTSI, she is excited to help lead projects that will impact workforce diversity, study quality, and scientific communication. Dr. Orechwa is also the Managing Director of the new Southern California Healthcare Delivery Science Center. Prior to SC CTSI, Dr. Orechwa was an editor and review panel organizer for the U.S. Department of Education. She holds a BA in Language & Mind from New York University and two degrees from USC: a Neuroscience PhD and an Executive MBA.

Nicole Davis is a retired American indoor volleyball superstar and mindset coach at Compete To Create, founded by Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and high-performance psychologist Dr. Michael Gervais. A two-time Olympic silver medal winner, she was known to be one of the best -- if not the best -- in the world at her craft. She spent 11 years on the USA National Volleyball Team and played professionally in 8 different countries in Europe & Asia. Career highlights include World Grand Prix Championships, 2010, 2011 & 2012, as well as World Championships Gold in 2014, all of which were historic accomplishment for the team. Other international highlights include podium finishes at the World Cup in 2007 and 2011, earning Olympic berths with both efforts. While attending and graduating from USC on a full-ride scholarship, she also helped lead her team to back-to-back NCAA Championships in 2002 & 2003.
Today, she helps business professionals become the best version of themselves by focusing on recovery, mindfulness and other critical routines. During our chat she discussed her career, the lessons she's learned and passes along some valuable high-performance tips. Nicole is currently finishing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with the vision to become a licensed psychologist.
